Angry Alarm setting itself off HELP!!!!

At various times, especially in the early morning(between 5am-6am), my 99 Toyota 4runner limited OEM alarm will go off for no apparent reason. This morning it went off @ 6am on the dot, yesterday it was @ 5am on the dot, is this simply coincidence or is the truck possessed? I checked to make sure that their are no loose connections under the hood but have had no luck. I do not have a wireless remote so I have to run outside & unlock the doors to shut it off. Could a weak battery cause this to happen but why at this particular time in the morning? Please help before my neighbors shoot me! Any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated by not only myself but my neighborhood too. Thanks!http://www.yotatech.com/images/smilies/banghead.gif

Your alarm is starting show its age... try to ajust the glassbreakage sensor contol... turn it to left... locate under the dashboard... or driver's kick panel... but if doesn't do anything... it's time to replace... you can get aftermarket alarm... very cheap @Amazone.com...

there could be a lose connection somewhere, i had a 03 tundra w/ factory alarm, i took it to a very good friend who specialized in auto electronics and he found that when it trains, there was a leak around a seal, i had justgtten a new windsheild, any way they did not seal it properly, so my friend sealed it for free, and i payed nothing! i would never use anyone else.

Thank you for the response. How do I disable the alarm system until I am able to purchase a new aftermarket alarm? Disconnecting the battery terminals every night is going to get old quick. Thanks again.

1. You can disable the chirper or (horn) by cuttting the wire... one red and one black... near gas pedal... comming out from the car chassis... take a good look under the dashboard.... if you have a hard time to find it don't worry... go to step 2...

2. Remove the FUSE (3A) from the wireharness.

Where is the FUSE locate at... Well... you have to find the ECU "brain" first... it's locate under the dashboard... on your right hand side... you have three steps to find your ECU...

1- Remove the left front-door trim (five clips and four taps).
2- Remove the driver's kick panel.
3- Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover.(use 10mm socket to remove those two bolts).

You will see the "brain" ECU...(grey box... said: TOYOTA V.I.P. Security Sytem) start working from here... just follow the wiring harness and you will see the fuse holder (the fuse in here)... also there is a stater kill (black chip) as well came along with the wireharness... Hope this helped!

Many thanks for you help!!! The stupid alarm went off 3x in a row last night, my neighbor came over & asked me when I was going to get the alarm fixed LOL as I was pulling my hair out. I am going to try & find the chirp wires today & cut them, if that fails I will pull the fuse. THANKS AGAIN from me & my neighbor?s!!!
