York Onboard Air with A/C
Well I found a nice big york compressor at the junkyard out of a Mercedes turbo diesel (by the way the york in those is so much easier to pull than the volvos, its right on the top right of the engine). I was planning on just tossing the A/C stuff but was looking at the engine bay and thinking that maybe if I swapped the battery over to the other side I could put the york where the battery is now and piggyback it off the A/C. I have a 22r so I think I can get away without swapping the intake (might do a little fender snorkel or something). Has anybody seen this anywhere else? Would there be any problem with not enough belt contact on the a/c compressor or something that would make it squeal?
On a side note, at the junkyard I saw a toyota pickup "special edition beach buggy". It was a 2wd with a double cab sorta thing on it, looked completely stock. Think it was an 84, with 2 full rows of seats. I'll take a picture next time i'm there.
