I say first gen First time I saw one and knew I wanted one was from the movie "over the top" I think I was about 8 - 10 years old then and swore if I would one day own one. There is just something about the convertables and the rollbar that appealed to me..
This weekend up at the mountian.

Oh'... don't forget about the expedition!
My neighbor is fed up with his. he just forked out over $500 just to change the spark plugs at the dealership!
Must suck to be him!

It's not the speed that breaks stuff. It's the sudden stop...

If we are talking purely about BODY STYLE...3rd gen all the way. I see them everywhere in Phoenix and just *sigh*. I want a '99! I'd probably trade someone mine for one with low miles

I love my little 2nd Gen... I love mine because, *ahem*: I like the tailgate, I have the swingout tire carrier, it's 5spd, black.... a V6 (Though it is a 3.slow... it's not that bad... not THAT bad...)... yeah... those are the three big factors I guess. Eh.

My ex-girlfriends parents have these vehicles;
Excursion, with about 5in of lift...
F-250, with about 9in of lift...
H2 , no lift and some bling bling billit rims.
The 2 fords ride stiffer than helll....and as far as i know are not used offroad, just for transporting stuff... are all big lifts capable offroad? because i don't see how the thing could flex at all. They scared the SHAT outta me everytime we took one of the fords on twisty roads... both her parents drive fast and the truck is so high and narrow... yikes.
but back to my question...are some lifts just for lifting the truck and nothing more?

What exactly is the usefullness of an excursion for offroad? and then what is the point of lifting one??

yeah...the truck i rode in has no exta width either that is the scary part, the tires are too thin for my liking and i think too thin for safety for such a high truck... if it were me id get nice wide offset rims....not skinny ones.
And....i'd never buy a ford.....

Maybe if we start keeping track of our sightings the government will help lower tariff taxes, and bribe toyota to make them for us all....
