I've got this one on my trans ('cept in the winter. had a couple cold cold mornings where my hand froze to the shifter like a tongue to a freezer)

Those are some nice aftermarket shift knobs. I've decided to make a shift knob out of a pool ball. Seen these on muscle cars so it's going to be a little weird on a toyota. I'm getting a #3 red solid ball and probably going to drill the hole right int he middle of the #. I like the feel of the ball TRD shifter and the pool ball is a comparable size for a lot cheaper. $50 for the TRD and $7 for the pool ball, but you have to drill and tap the pool ball which should be a piece of cake.

It came with the truck when I bought it. It completes the old school 80's look.

Looks like TRD discontinued the nicest feeling, looking, and leather shift knob ever made. It has a noticeable and distinct feeling that makes shifting all the more pleasurable.
5 years ago, a few members paid $55 shipped in a "group buy" and at basically the same price from brandsport, I might pick up a 2nd one for a spare.

Nothing beats having a genuine leather knob during bitter cold months and scorching heat waves...it's always "cool" to the touch.

I like that old school knob swimmer... but I prefer a more sculpted shape to a ball...
I've seen those TRD ones at the dealers up here recently... I might grab one of them some time...
My personal fav is one I saw on an episode of JAG once... the one where Harm's vette gets ripped and stripped... all he has left when the cops find it is the custom Navy blue shifter with the gold wings on it... may have to make myself a version of it...
been thinking of carving my own...

Finally got some time to make the pool ball shifter knob. It was cheap and easy to make. Drilled the hole with the right size drill bit for the thread size at the college machine shop, and taped the ball with m12x1.25 at Toyota dealership.
