What to charge for a truck that needs a new engine?

94 Xtra Cab. Blue book in "Good" condition $3,700. It is in good condition except for the engine part. What should I ask?

Thanks

What you should sell it for is as much as you can.

maybe a little more info auto or manual total mileage ??

Just what is wrong with the engine ?? A rod knock or a huge hole in the block or oil pan??

To buy your truck it all depends just how bad some one might think they need that truck.

If it was really clean I would offer a few hundred over the going scrap price.

Manual, 3.0, 4WD. 220,000 miles. 2 valves burned. Leakdown test indicated air in 2 cylinders. Was told that swapping the engine would be cheaper than rebuilding this one.

I just don't need the truck anymore. Seems a shame to scrap it when it is in such good condition.

All I can say it would be ideal for a 3.4 swap

Post it on here!!

Craig`s List start at Like $2000.00 much easier to lower a price then raise it.

Good Luck.

I understand to good to scrap it all to well

HOLD ON.....

OK.

Car has to have 2 out of 3 to be worthy. Body...engine...interior.

Engine....shot. We got that.
How is the interior? trashed? holes in seats? be honest.
How is body? Any rust at all? Dents? Paint shiny?

If you have a 3.0 4x4 5spd truck....with rusty wheel arches....dings and small dents....and a dirty torn interior.....you have a $500-$800 truck.

If it has great paint....clean interior....and a bad motor...you might have a $2500 truck.

Pictures will be needed.
