So happy someone is finally putting out an all TOYOTA mag, so is my wife.

I just went and grabbed my wallet and she asked what was I buying now . When I told her she laughed, she said " Great now you can quit bitching there isnt one".

I have cancelled many of my long time subsciptions(some for almost a decade) over the last few months because they werent doing anything new. Rarely is there a yota in the other mags and even though they have good articles most of it doesnt fill my intrests.

KUDOS KUDOS KUDOS You have my money and my subsciption, please keep us informed if any rough patches that could come into play as I would love to see a mag like this succeed(I am sure it will). I am not sure what I personally could do to help if you guys needed it but as I am sure you know the yota community is large and dedicated as any group out there.

Heres the latest news for those of you that havent signed up on the mailing
list...

"The first issue of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine is DONE and at the
printer! That leaves several weeks before we get initial returns for
corrections, then blue lines, then final print go-ahead..and then we pick up the
bundles from the loading dock and send them to the distributors and to
subscribers! We are on track for the September delivery date! Haven't
subscribed yet? Go to www.4wdtoyotaowner.com right now and get a
subscription for only $19.95 for a year!

A lot has happened since I last wrote. We've attended the TLCA
Rubithon, which was epic. Days of mud, snow, and some of the most challenging
rocks and trails in all the United States. 4WD Toyota Owner's assistant
editor Tiffany Tudyk rode along with John and Ross Kuzma's group and
brought back incredible photos; look for the feature in the premier
issue.

4WD Toyota Owner also attended the TTORA Toyota Takeover in Paragon, PA
that just ended (July 29-31). If you've never wheeled Paragon Adventure
Park, put it in your to-do book. They have 5500 acres and 150 miles of
trails that range from fire road to triple-blacks to "Red" that require
a Paragon guide to survive it. We attended and wheeled with 4WD Toyota
owners of all makes and models. Highlights: Turner in his "junk" going
up a Black-3 trail, John Embrey's unreal FJ40, the Cornfed Suspension
truck, late-night parties, and of course, brutally awesome wheeling.
Issue One will have the photos and words. Special thanks to Paul Trautner
and his badass Tacoma for picking up 4WD Toyota Owner in Philly!

The first issue features amazing pieces by senior editor Ben Crockett,
Scott Brady of Expeditions West, Peter Parks of ParksOffroad.com, John
"Sickfab" Wanninger, assistant editor Tiffany Tudyk, plus myself and
freelance contributors. It's all color, on glossy paper, and looks great.
We have tech features, product evaluations, safari/expedition trips,
Toyota events like Cruise Moab, GSMTR, TTORA and Tin Benders, and a whole
lot more! Bill Burke is on board as our resident Skill Training Editor.
We are honored and appreciative to have every one of these extremely
talented individuals as part of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine. Their work
will make this magazine superlative.

Have a story idea? Send it in! Want to write or shoot a piece? We want
it! We pay for stories, so email us your ideas or burn photos and text
to a CD and send them to us! Get published, get famous, get paid!

A note on photos: always shoot at your highest JPEG Fine setting. The
bigger the better. Photos at 640x480 or even 1024x768 are unusable in
print. Minimum should be 1200x1600.

Text: just write your piece in Microsoft Word, Appleworks, or other
major word processor. Don't insert images, send them separately. Write
your captions at the end of the piece, numbered to match the photos.
That's it!

If you have a cool Toyota you want to see in print, send it to
YourYotas@4wdtoyotaowner.com with a hi-res photo and list of mods. If
it really catches our eye , we'll contact you to do a feature on it!

We've been slammed, so the website hasn't seen much attention, but
we've added an "Upcoming Events" link. The first event there is the Yankee
Toys Fall Gathering. If you or your club has an upcoming event, please
send it to us and we'll add it to our website. We want tp spread the
word about all events that Toyotas are part of!

As this historic first issue goes to press, I'd like to sincerely thank
the literally thousands of you who have subscribed to receive 4WD
Toyota owner magazine. We couldn't have done it without you and your
support, be it on the forums and boards, word of mouth or out on the trails.
We want to bring 4WD Toyotas to the forefront of wheeling, where they
belong, and with you, we're doing just that."

Thank you very much, and we'll be seeing you soon!

Just paid my subscription

I just found out about this magazine last week while checking out Expeditionswest.com. Last year I started thinking that this would be a great idea. I’m stoked to see that someone is actually doing it. Of all my subscriptions this will definitely be the favorite. Now I just can’t wait for next month to receive my first issue.

Hey 2kTundra, welcome to the forum and thanks for subscibing.

Heres the latest news:

"The cover for the Premiere issue of 4WD Toyota Owner is done! Rob
Matzell's 1985 4Runner is the star of this historic first issue! We shot Rob
and his truck at TTORA's Toyota Takeover at Paragon Adventure Park in
Pennsylvania. Congrats, Rob, on having one sweet 4WD Toyota! (see the
issue for the full scoop on Rob's truck and its mods. We'll give you a
hint--it's a bada$$ trail truck.) Now it's off to the printer and the
issue will ship in September (exact day unknown)."

Next up: 4WD Toyota Owner needs photos! 4WD Toyota Magazine is doing
feature articles on two subjects which we need photos for:

Driving in sand or dunes

Driving in winter conditions: snow, especially, or winter mud. Photos
need to show winter conditions.

If you have photos of your truck in either or both of these climes,
send it to us at info@4wdtoyotaowner.com and if we publish them we'll give
you photo credit! Snow shots a top priority, but the sand as well.

PHOTOS: need to be HIGH RESOLUTION! This is so they can be sized up for
print publication. 1MB would be the smallest (or about 1200x1600 at
72dpi). THE BIGGER THE BETTER, up to about 6MB. We can't use 640x480 or
even 1024x768--they're much too small.

We're looking for any type of Toyota rig shredding sand, driving in
snow or over snowy trails, anything that has a Toyota and sand/dunes or
winter conditions. If you have a few, please email them over and then
wait for the next issue!

For that matter, if you have photos of any kind of wheeling, send a few
over. We may use them and we will give you credit as well!

So send us your photos and who knows? It may be YOU on a future cover
of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine. Thanks!

Dave

I have been getting ToyotaTrails for a few years now, and that is a great mag if you have a cruiser (even though technically the TLCA includes non-cruiser yota 4x4's). I had not heard of this new mag until I saw it here - and immediately subscribed. Looking forward to a different flavor! Thanks for the head's up!

Who was it that lives in the Yukon or something like that who put up that panorama of the blue runner on the snowy road. It's an asesome pic (I right-clicked and saved as, hope its okay) and that should be sent in for winter stuff. No action, but great picture.

I sent my $ a while back. I can't wait. Everytime I see a Jeep in an issue, I am going to write a pissed off letter to the magazine. Just like the Jeep guys write pissed off letters about IFS rigs in all the other offroad magazines I read.

Talking Just Announced!

4WD Toyota Owner magazine is proud and extremely excited to announce that the premiere issue has been printed and shipped!

It left the printer in Idaho on Friday, September 2nd, via US Mail to
all parts in the US. Canadian and global subscribers also shipped
Friday, but from Seattle, WA. US subscribers should get their issue
within three to ten days, depending on where you live. Canada: seven
to 14 days (and that's with air mail, if you can believe that?!) and
global, up to four weeks.

We're amped; it's here and looks great! We're already deep into
issues two and three. Plus, winners of the many subscription prizes
will be announced within 72 hours, so stay tuned!

Our heartfelt appreciation to the thousands of people who subscribed
before 4WD Toyota Owner was published. Thanks to you, it is a
reality, and we're only going to get bigger and better. Tell your
Toyota friends to check out the web site and subscribe too, or
they'll end up stealing your copy! Thanks everyone and have a safe
weekend!

I can't wait. I have been wanting a Toyota magazine for years. The other magazines seem to show Toyota's, maybe, twice a year.

It's going to be great! Trying to spread the word locally and may put a logo and link on my site.
