Well I just spent about 7 hours detailing my 4runner with clay and wax. The results, simply amazing!! If you have never used clay, you should try it. A guy walked up and asked what year my truck was and if I had just bought it that day it looked so good!!! I will try to post a picture in a while.

Clay is amazing stuff. The prev owner of mine had a yakima rack on & it looked like he never took it off to clean under it. The fairing rubbed a line of dirt into the clearcoat right above the windshield. I probably spent an hour on just that, but the clay lifted all the dirt out & it's hardly noticable now.

Clay detailing is when you use a kind of sinthetic clay and a spray (for lubrication) to remove built up contaminatnts off your paint such as mineral spotts and tree sap. It is not an abrasive althogh the same can be accomplished by an abrasive polish. It's kind of like using a pencle erasor on your paint.

Hey Lee,

WOW, I've been gone for awhile....I used to be in the Top 10 for posting, now I'm like 13. I've just been busy with work and working on my other car ('99 Civic Hatchback).

Is this one of those optical illusions where if you look really closely you can see a car in that picture?
