I've had a first, second and now a third. Loved 'em all. Still have a soft spot for the first gen's though. They were truley an off road truck. Right down to the rollbar!
I'd be hard pressed to think I'll ever own a fourth gen. I just think they're too ugly.

3rd generation, but I'm starting to dream about the 4th. How about a 2004 limited, galactic grey, black roof rails, black running boards, front Toyota brush bar, and a hood scoop. Would probably be $40k, so it is really a dream.

Its a rare jewel!
I am pretty impressed being yesterday was my first time seeing one. I actually like its look better than my 4 door. Its kinda the sports car of toyota rigs in a way. It would work for me perfect if I had one. I never use that back seat in mine. Oh well I will continue dreaming.

I posted that poll a few weeks back on the Land Cruisers, 80-100 series vs the 4 Runner. After a ton of research and listening to everyones thoughts, yesterday, i traded in my 2002 with 30k+ miles on it for a 2003 Runner.
I have no pics right now because it's raining friggin' elephants in South Florida for the last few days, but I will get them up as soon as time and weather allow.
Anyway, about the Runner, this may be useful for people who are considering a move to the 03 or 04. I bought an ALL white including the grocery protectors (cladding) SR5 Sport Edition with a 4.7 litre v8. Superchargers are available... 17" alloys with Dunlop AT's and best of all, less than 3miles on it when I picked it up!!
Now for the tough part. I'm now looking for Beadlocks, Front and rear guards, kinda like the Safarigards on the Global Extremes runner and suspension guru's what can I do about the springs? I badly need to get it out of the grocery getter group it's currently in!! Thanks.
PS, I still have 1st gen convertible envy!!

Me....I love my 3rd gen....got one when they first came out.
Couldn't stand the lack of power in the 2nd gen trucks.
I would love to get a V8 4th gen but I can't stand the squared off wheel wells....looks like a chevy avalanche!.... If someone comes out with some aftermarket fender flares that fix that problem then I am in!

haha, with only 22 posts and a MUY GIGANTE pic like that, it's obvious you will learn how much more 'moddable' the earlier gen's are.
