E-locker problems... Fried wiring...

I turned my E-locker on the other day, and it locked but then the system went out... The status light went out, and the on/off system stopped functioning. I checked and the fuse had blown. I put a new one in, and it functioned and I unlocked the locker. Later that day I decided to try and lock it again to make sure it was working right, and bam, popped another fuse. This time it popped it immediately when I put a new one in. At this point, something was obviously wrong, so I started looking around at the connections. Then I noticed that the zip ties that held the wiring harness up had broken and the harness had fallen down and gotten a bit melted by the exhaust. The fuse was getting blown by either wires inside the harness shorting out, and/or wires grounding out on the exhaust. I repaired the wiring, and the system seems to be functioning correctly, except the locker (currently stuck in the locked position) wont unlock. The status light works, when I turn the locker button off, I can hear the relay box click over, but I cant hear the motor trying to unlock the locker. What could the issue be? Could I have fried the locker motor with the short?
