Im getting a dixie horn from my grandparents basement later today

has anyone ever put one in a 1st gen 4runner with the 22re?
where did you put it/where would you put it?

I have one, haven't installed it yet But I plan on putting it into the bed of the truck with a toolbox to protect it and keep it dry. Can't really do that with a 4Runner I suppose.

my surf has 2 big horns under the front bumper!!! dont think my other runners have them there!~!!!!!

I got one today, and fixed it, im going to install it with self drilling screws tomorow, but im just puting the horns all over the engine compartment

As long as you got the tubing it shouldn't matter to much where you put the horns. Just make sure you put the compressor in a central location.

yea, a few of the tubes are long, but most of them are going on the passenger side with the compressor

EDIT: ill post pictures latter today or tomorrow once i get it installed

I put a little switch next to the e break handle

I realized that one of the horns isnt working, i also noticed that where the horn part conects to the base is lose, could this be why its not working?
how would i fix this?

thats gonna sound crazy with those all pointed all over. i think you can fit them between the rad and grille it looks badass (edit: ok maybe not badass but it looks pretty cool) too imo
that wiring and hoses looks like a nightmare you should invest in some zip ties

there are zip ties, but the tubes cant bend very much to make it look neat, or it will kink

one on the horns isnt working right right now, so once i fix that, i will record it

it is loud though, one of my frinds has a newer one, and mine is at least double as loud as his

Place all the horns as close to the air compressor as possible, you probably have that one horn placed too far from it.

actually, that's not the problem
the problem is that that the horn is not sealed up to the base of the horn, I posted that earlier in the thread
