That looks like a pretty good buy for the money, I remember I had a Yakima load warrior on my last truck and it was $$$ not real strong I couldn't stand on it for very long.

I thought about a basket for this truck and decided I need a full rack considering the roof ten goes on pretty often, so I went with this for $450.

You can fab something up I'm sure of it. Lights,,,, weld on some tabs or modify some Yakima hardware mounts like I did for the last rack I had notice the yellow piaa 520 in the picture,,, that was mounted to a yakima round bar clip thing. Shovels can be mounted to a quick fist which can be bolted or whatever to your basket,,, and for gas,, if your running the spendy Scepter cans just modify an existing mount or make your own. If you using the non spendy fuel cans tie downs or a small pet monkey can hold those on the roof.

I don't know of any company making brackets for this particular rack, but you could probably fab some up pretty easily. I know Miller made some brackets for his lights and they look great.

will the mounts on this rack fit yak round bars? I have a dc taco and will need to buy the bars that will put it on my roof since I dont have a factory rack. But I wanna make sure it fits. Hopefully the clips are like the yakima universal clips...

I'm starting to wonder if Costco ran out of coleman roof racks. I placed an order on January first and it has yet to ship out. I ordered some gloves in the same order and received them a few days ago. The site says they are delivered in 7-10 business days. Today was the 7th business day. *Fingers Crossed*

i know people have been asking if you can mount hilifts and shovels to it, i can obviously fab mounts for it.

but what i want to know is how strong is the metal and or how thick is it. does it seem solid enough to weld or bolt on asc.

also if the wind fairing removable?

i don't think so, clamping may be a better idea

also if the wind fairing removable?

I thought I remember seeing someone on here who created different mounts for the basket to make it sit lower. I've searched and couldn't find it. Any help?

I just got mine in the mail and I'd say it's definitely worth the 78 bucks that I paid for it. Everything looks to be pretty high quality and I don't think I could have built one any cheaper. The installation hardware is pretty good too and tying it down was a no-brainer.

My only complaint is that the main tubing on the top and bottom could probably stand to be a little thicker. If the rack is just going to be used as-is, I don't think it will be a problem, but it could be kind of tricky trying to weld any tabs or brackets onto the rack because the tubing is so thin. I don't think I'd try it with a MIG, but I'm sure someone with a TIG could weld it up just fine.

Overall, I'd say the rack is worth every penny at this price!

I ordered this rack on 1/23/08 and recieved it today. That is the fastest shipping I have ever had with an online purchase. A big thumbs up to Costco!
I should have it mounted this evening I will post some pics tomorrow.
