Before I get flamed I searched under catalytic converter recycling but did not find what I am looking for so here's what I am after.

A couple months ago when everyone was talking about the cat thieves stealing cats someone posted up an ad for a place in New Jersey that pays for used cats and I am looking for the info from that place.

If anyone knows where I can find the info please let me know. I have been saving cats from my buddies shop to recycle and I have a good load of them just need to get the info on where to send them so if you have any info please speak up.

Info: I work for a new car dealer, we have some guy that comes around and buys all of our old cats, calipers, power steering pumps, and so on. I just put a cat in my truck, $142 from http://www.lcengineering.com/
I got $70 for my old cat, pretty good if you ask me.

Don't toss them! Look in your phonebook for a metal recycling yard that will take them. Or stop at your local Toyota dealership and ask one of the techs (not a service manager) where you might be able to get rid of them.

The catalyst itself is most often a precious metal. Platinum is the most active catalyst and is widely used. However, it is not suitable for all applications because of unwanted additional reactions and/or cost. Palladium and rhodium are two other precious metals that are used. Platinum and rhodium are used as a reduction catalyst, while platinum and palladium are used as an oxidization catalyst. Cerium, iron, manganese and nickel are also used, though each has its own limitations. Nickel is not legal for use in the European Union (due to reaction with carbon monoxide). While copper can be used, its use is illegal in North America due to the formation of dioxin.
