Brake drag?

Brake drag?
Hi everyone,
Im pretty new to vehicle maintenance and was wondering if this is normal. When I took my front wheel off, I was inspecting the brake pads and rotor and noticed it was difficult to turn the hub and rotor and it seemed like the pads were resting too close to the rotor. I attached a picture. What do y'all think?
Thanks, Karl

KSTI thanks for your reply Yeah I don't notice much while driving, maybe when coasting down a gentle grade it seems like I slow down faster than I should. The 22re motor is a bit short on power and Im just looking at things that might be holding her back.

KSTI, You run double backplates on your pads?
Is that spring clip something newer or just on the newer models?, My 92 4R and truck have this big metal clip that goes from the top shoe retainer to the bottom retainer.

Sorry Punchy, my rig is a 2wd and has completely different brake system up front.
That pic was from the internet for comparison so the OP could see that his concern was normal.
As for the clip in question, I'm not sure as the hardware might have changed in a certain year.
Maybe someone else can chime in and confirm.
The back plates (insulators) I use what came with the pads (OEM) and I'm pretty sure it is one for each pad.
