White and silver.
My white 4Runner held up very well, and was easy to buff out PNW pinstripping. The FJ with the silver is just as easy to buff out, and hides dirt very well.

I had a painter buddy tell me that green, even a dark green, would hide inperfections in bodywork pretty well. But traditionally the lighter the better.

On my '95 Runner I have the 'champagne' color, you know the silvery-metallic-sandy-tan color. Not the more goldy color on pre-95 4Runners. I have scratches on it from the first day I bought it (off the lot!), and you'll never see them unless you're close and the light hits them just right. Stand back about 5-10 feet, even the dust is hard to see.

White without doubt. From a good 20-30 ft. away truck looks great. It's not till you get up close that you can see all the pinstriping and dents.
![]() Thought white was kinda bland when I first got the truck but I don't think I'd be able to wheel a black truck *shudders* White's definitely my favorite color for a truck that gets used.

Silver gets my vote. I hadn't washed the truck since November until this last weekend. In that time I went off-roading several times and spent a week up in Mammoth driving through snow and slush and the truck barely even looked dirty.

A buddy and I both went in most of the same off road spots this summer. I have white and he has dark green. His is pinsrtiped and mine looks great from 10 ft. away. Up close you can see some in the white.
Seems like the darker the color the worse it shows the wear. |

Flat black.
If the metal starts to show up just hit it with a rattle can. |
