Best Auto Tranny
okay guys here's the deal. Im 16, my dad lost his left leg above his knee in a motorcycle accident seven years ago so he cant drive a manual tranny truck anymore. He loves Yotas and is the one that got me hooked on them. The other day his Heep cherokee died (go figure lol) theres water in the oil so it has a blown HG or cracked head and it has a scarred bearing that wont let it build oil pressure so its dead and he hated it anyways. Money isnt very good and he needs a car. so i was thinking that i could scan craigs list around me for a pretty straight truck with a blown tranny and get it on the cheap, rebuild its motor if needed, and have his friend who helped me do my motor rebuild it and swap in a new tranny. I figure since we are getting the truck pretty cheap we can order a new tranny from marlin so we know its in good shape and have him a basically brand new yota for less than 3 grand. so my question is, from 84-95, what is the best automatic tranny that will bolt up to a 22r or 22re? Thanks guys YT always gets my questions answered!

To my knowledge there is only one automatic tranny that will bolt up behind the 22R/RE, and that tranny is the A340E. I don't know if the A340H will work or not, seeing as it came behind the 3VZE and the bellhousing would have a different bolt pattern

No problem. I would suggest that whenever you find a yota with an auto tranny, simply rebuild that tranny instead of buying new, assuming you know a shop that has a good reputation with the rebuilding of auto trannys. A good used tranny is also a viable option
