Damn I thought you had it goin haha. How does the inside of your radiator look? Is it crusty looking if you look inside the cap? Are the top and bottom radiator hoses both hot? Also, did you ceck the head with a straight edge when it was off to see if it was warped? Somebody else suggested that it had probably been overheated before based on the look of the headbolts. How hot did you get the truck since the headgasket install? If it went in the red you may blown it again.

Mine did the same thing when the head gasket went, I also replaced the headter core and thermostat due to clogging but it turned out great after that.

Both hoses get really hot. I discovered that the fan doesn't work, it just freewheels, so I will be getting a new fluid coupling. I'll go to the junkyard and look for a good radiator. I'm taking a break right now after working on the truck for 2 weeks straight. The coolant doesn't smell like exhaust but I will recheck that when I get back. And it has overheated to the red a couple of times since I redid the head gasket with a good new Beck/Arnley one a week ago.

check your neutral safety switch if you have a manual tranny, if a fuse or sensor is bad it wont start, also an engine , crank position sensor is bad will crank with no start, remember let your battery rest after alot of cranking,

never reuse old or damaged bolts, always ensure that there is nothing in the bolt holes, water, oil, will not compress. it will remain between the seal and under the bottom of the bolt, over time this can cause the bolt to loosen, also always replace the gaskets they get tired, old like all of us.

Alright I got back from my trip yesterday. Today I couldn't find any compatible radiators or fan clutches at the junkyard so I just refilled the fan clutch with power steering fluid and now it works! And it's not overheating any more! It's staying only at 1/4 on the gauge! (Knock on wood.)
But NOW my "engine" fuse keeps blowing when going in reverse / switching gears around or something! So many gremlins!
