valve tap
I got a 95 4Runner 3.0 form a friend that recently did head work on it. I have a valve tap. I'm not sure what all he did to it. I had to finish putting on the plenum and the pulley's. i changed the oil b4 i started it. Today after driving it 86 miles i changed the oil again. It had a lot of metal shavings in it. Could the oil ports be clogged? It does not have the tap when it is cold only when it warms up. If any one has any ideas please let me know.

bassmastry101 im not sure what the sound is. but i did notice that it only starts making the noise after the engine gets warm. im going to pull the oil cooler down to see if it is clogged. this is my first toyota in several years my first one was a 1979 toyota corolla stationwagen. it was a lot easyer to work with casue of the year. so im thinking the oil cooler isnt cooling the oil like it should. like i said i hear it now after the engine has been running for a few.
