Running boards square nuts
I'm trying to remove the running boards on my 4Runner, but I ran into trouble with the last 2 of the 3 brackets. They are bolted on by square nuts.
I feel like there's a really easy solution to removing these, but I've come up with a blank online so I thought I may as well post.
Help!

Well I tried what you said and it wouldn't budge at all.
One of them seems to almost be welded at the nut's 4 corners and the other one seems to have rust or something all around and over it.
Ahhhh I need to get these things off!

Ok so what you said worked, but the only nut that doesn't seem to want to budge is on the 3rd bracket (one closest to the right, back wheel). The other side of it is just a circle covering it's opposite end. Any suggestions?

Finally got them off!
After driving around, I heard more sound from debris/ruble which (from what I've read) is normal. Will this do a lot of damage to my car in the longrun?
