Its a 92 auto i havent been able to go check the codes yet gunna do that tomorrow...
Jonnyboy-do you like the swap to the 3.4? I've givin it some thought considering my 3.0 is toast but I think if I swapped it would either be another 3.0 or the 4.3 (jus because I've got one sittin around and don't have to go buy it) this is my dd

and as far as the gears on the 90-95 4runner 3.0 autos with the 4.88's, will they be a direct swap into my 4.10 housing? or will there be modification needed?

IIRC modifications will be needed if swapping 4.88's they are totally different than any other ratio.

IIRC = If I Recall/Remember Correctly. (It's in the YotaTech glossary thread. ) https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f120...ossary-202917/
I don't know what's involved with swapping them. All I know is the factory toyota 4.88 gears are different than standard. May or may not be direct swap with the entire 3rd. But I do know the gears themselves are different thicknesses etc etc and wont swap into any factory carrier.
Aftermarket 4.88's are direct swap into the carriers.
Sounds like it's time for you to check out ERIK's diff page. http://home.4x4wire.com/erik/diffs/

hmm...checked it out. looks like the rear does swap over if i read that correctly....the front however might be a different story. I am/was hoping to find a set up that i could pull out of a wrecked unit at the scrap yard (whole diff assembly) and just swap them out in my truck...will see i guess...

The 3.4 swap is awesome, it's normally my daily driver, too. If you already have the 4.3 laying around, I wouldn't be against using that, though. When I had the Runner on 31's it beat a Blazer with the 4.3 and an automatic to 65 mph.
Edit: Almost forgot to address the lug studs, I'm unfamiliar with abc, so I can't say whether they're a good fit or not. The couple I bought from Kragen/Oreilly and Autozone probably could've been forced through, but probably never would've been able to remove them in case they broke.
The differences in the carrier are only in the 8" I believe, not the 7.5" ifs front. The 4.88 carrier can be installed in any 8" housing, though.
