Performance loss going from 225s to 33s?

Tried a quick search, didn't get what I'm looking for.
Got my 33" BFG MTs on the way, and I'm wondering how much they're going to impact my highway performance compared to the 225/75s that are on there now.

It's a 95 4Runner SR5 with the 3.0, pretty much stock.

My 4Runner came with 225/75 and I have 32's now. Not much of a difference under ~35mph. You'll notice a pretty big difference on the highway. I downshift ALOT more and have to ride out 4th longer than normal. I also have 4.30 gears and headers so if you have 4.10's you might have more of a problem than me.

ah search?

You can decipher from your vin or jack a tire up and count the revs.

I know the vin, I don't see how that tells me the gear ratio.

I googled "toyota vin decoder" got a whole BUNCH of hits.

I have to apologies though, you don't need your vin persay, but the ID Plate itself.

Ok, so, just to make sure I'm reading this right (it's late, I had a 12hr work day, and some Bacardi may be involved), G144 would translate to 8" diameter, 4.88 ratio, 4 pinions, no limited slip.

Yup, you are correct! That's actually a darn good setup. 33's should be happy with that, but I'm thinking that you have an auto?

Yeah mine's an auto. Really only gets used around town and at the GF's ranch (hence the 33s), we use her Yukon for road trips now, more room, better gas mileage, and no rattles or other noises (it's damn near unnatural!).

I am running 33s with 4.30 gears and a 5speed. It isnt too awful but you are going to hate yourself with the automatic tranny and 33s.

thats what people need to realize about these trucks, theyre WORKHORSES, not racehorses. though i have been known to race mine against the local ricers too... lol. sometimes i actually get lucky and win and leave them wondering how they lost, and their girlfriends laughing at them and talking to me more. REALLY pisses em off.
