New 22Re block, should i use a carb, EFI, or propane?
Hey there, Im getting ready to do a new engine swap in my toyota, and it is currently fuel injected, i was wondering if there was a benefit to putting a different intake manifold on the new block, and a Weber carb, over the current EFI. As I was looking at the options, i also noticed a propane conversion kit...Would this be more efficient to use than EFI or Carbed? Thanks a bunch.

Carb with offy intake weber 32/36 and a propane kit, be able to run gas and propane would pretty cool, you could wheel for days on tank of gas and propane
but EFi would be easy and good too

What is the benefit of a 20R head on a 22r block? So switching to a Weber carb wouldn't improve power or efficiency? Also do you know if it would run longer on five gallons of propane than five gallons of Gas? Thanks

How many miles can I go on one tank?
We run a stock 22r all day on the trail (8 hour day of hard wheeling) on 4 to 5 gallons. The turbo truck uses about 6 to 7 gallons. You can figure that it will use about a gallon more per day than you are using now. If you are worried about running out, you can get a 10 gallon tank or find a larger motor fuel tank.
Jeep 258 mileage seems to be around 13mpg. That is with full width axles and lifted.
Hardcore rock crawlers are using on average 3 gallons LESS of fuel per day!
