Question Another A/C Question

So my cousin has a 2wd 88 pickup 22r....well his A/C wasnt working for a long time and then he just replaced an o-ring then filled it up with freon and it started to blow cold air and work just fine...well there is two problems...one is that when his compressor engages it doesnt idle up and sometimes the idle will go so low that the truck almost dies (which i know it should cuse i have a 93 22re and i will idle up when the clutch engages) and then the second problem is that when at idle and stop like at a light...it blows warm air until it starts moving again........Could it be a bad sensor or what????

I can't remember what the trigger is for them to idle up but there is one. You might try downloading a Factory Service Manual and researching a bit. I saw something about it in mine the other day. Correct me if I'm wrong but that truck should be fuel injected, right?
