Which toyota pickups came with 4.56 gears? I sold a guy a a 4.10 rear end and he says he ran his vin and it has 4.56's! I thought he was out of his tree until I did some research and found that toyota actually DID offer 4.56's. I had never seen anything but 4.10's in a toyota pickup with manual transmission.

He has a 1993 Toyota pickup, extended cab, 4X4, standard. I can only assume it must be an LX or some other such letter address to make it come with 4.56's. Any info would be great so I can be aware of this next time around.

yep 4.56s came with the manuals with 31" tires
4.88s came with autos and 31s

G144=4.88
G254=4.56
G282/284 = 4.30
G292/294 = 4.10

Thanks. It was driving me nuts, I couldn't find anywhere what determined factory 4.56's. Looks like I gotta give this dude his money back. Lesson learned.
