Spicer drive shafts in new Tacomas.
I was crawling around under my truck the other day and happened to notice spicer on the driveshafts both front and rear. I don't know too much about Spicer but i think they make some pretty tough stuff don't they? I need some education on the quality of the Spicer shafts in my new truck.

Spicer is a well known name that has been around for many years (at least as far back as the 40s), and is know for making quality stuff. I didn't know they made whole driveshafts, and certainly didn't know they made parts for Toyota. But they do have a history of making whole axle assemblies, universal joints, transfer cases, and transmissions for full size American trucks.
I might be wrong about this, but I think they invented the universal joint as we know it today.
Some years ago, they merged with or were bought by Dana, which is also a well known company known for quality componants. Some of the well known axle assemblies that now carry the Dana name actually started out as Spicer axles.
In fact, I'm surprised to see the Spicer name by itself. I've seen Dana-Spicer, and I've seen just the Dana name by itself in more recent years. I didn't know there were componants being made that still carried just the Spicer name.

yeah i couldn't believe it but on a sticker right on both driveshafts it said SPICER, really took me by surprise, but it sounds like it is a very good product.
