Sorry Dude, my old garbage has 2" ID coils. Ordered some custom 2" ID and they fit perfect.

Since you never owned the junk, you don't know.

The SAW's YOU have are really nice the ones I HAD were junk.

EDIT:

Maybe I don't remember exactly what I had. All I can tell is it was garbage. The stock coils were so much better it was unreal. Stockers did Aftershock at the Hammers and all over Moab. Tundra which is even better did Lower Terminator.

So the reference to this thread is, get the bigger coils. It's why I went back to stock.

Steve, I promise the small SAW's use 2.5" ID coils but either way I see your point, it was really just symantics...

Lance gave me the impression that the 2.0s weren't THAT different ... certainly not different enough to be considered "garbage" in comparison to the 2.5s ...

Is this not true?

I know you wouldn't, but I also knew you hadn't gotten your set yet, so I hoped it wasn't just that we didn't know.

I really hope the package still smells like candy ... and not packing peanuts!

The 3rd Gen bolt on is what I was disapointed in. Casey dumped his, Mike N dumped his, Lance U dumped his, Ryan T dumped his, Gadget dumped his, Darren hates his. The list goes on and on.

The 3rd Gen and this 4th gen are not the same, sure I'm bitter about a poor 800 dollar puchase, my only advice is to get the larger coils.

Doug ... nah, I think RL Lemke did it with the Donahoes ... but I'll be doing the install myself, as well as removing the XREAS myself, so I'll do an extensive writeup if everything goes decently!

Good to hear you'll be doin' it yourself Tracy, it'll be cake. Take lots of pics!!

I have to do some searching for the Donahoes. I don't think I've seen them yet.

Oh, btw: I just read your PM you sent me months and months ago. Sorry, but I forget to check them. I have never used "those" spacers or "those" relocation thingy's.

OMG, I can't believe how long I've been preoccupied with my cruisers. Sean has pics from last Nov. What the F was I thinking?

Actually because of the benefits of XREAS, I've been trying to think of a way to keep it.....maybe relocating the fronts in conjunction with the coilovers and creating a new mount or two, kinda like a double shock if the XREAS shocks don't hinder my wheel travel. It may not be necessary with the coilovers cranked up and a stiffer spring in the rear, but I've been pondering that.

What I'm running just for reference is a custom front spacer with XREAS and rear Downeys and spacers (not NE) on Allied Daytonas (steel) 285 x 70's. I've been running it for over a year now, but would like to get more flex out of my springs. I have been down tight to one side or another and got very little wheel travel out of the high side. Thats the reason I am considering a change. However, XREAS is wonderful and if you allocate proper space and design in your lift intelligently, it can be maintained rather effectively unlike some others who may have caused more problems than solutions. Btw, I have zero leakage or misalignment of the shocks because of reloc's.

My ground to fender through the hub measurements are:
39" in the front and 40" in the rear. This is on 17" wheels and 33" tires. No diff drop and 50K miles.

I know I'm kinda hijacking but measurements are always appreciated by those looking to lift. Sorry for ranting!

Oh no kiddo, I'm running "Henry the welder relocs" a small town farmer who engineers and welds. He designed them, built and installed them. "top down design". Thus far no problems. Believe me I have put my shocks to the test nearly everyday because of my type of work. I never used NE anything on my truck.
