Thanks
Wouldn't recommend that. Just go to an Autozone, and get a pitman arm puller on loan. Let me know if you need any help.

It will rub for sure w/ the 285's.

Offroad rubbing: You're looking at trimming about a good 3 inches of the bottom of the front bumper. You also have to remove the inner fender (I think - mine just came off after a day of wheeling... ). Rear bumper will rub like there's no tomorrow on the backside during full stuff. Stuff it like crazy and you'll know what I mean. Also on some occations, you'll rub on the cladding front/rear as I still do sometimes.

Onroad rubbing: front bumper only during hard turns. It will sound BAD! My friends thought the front bumper was going to rip apart. Nothing on the rear

Let me know if you need help on the install. I don't have plans for next sat so if you need a hand, just give me a buzz.

How much rubbing did you get. Finally saw your pics. NICE. WHat wheels are those?

The lift just came in. Nice!!! TOO BAD I have to wait til next weekend to get it setup.

I will lay everything out, and take a picture of the parts, so everyone can have an Idea what the kit looks like.

I am starting to think about what tires to get. I want one of the below:
Goodyear MT/R (1st choice)
BFG MT (2nd choice)
Pro Comp XTerrain (3rd choice)
Pro Comp MTs (4th choice)

The final decision will be based on what rims I will go with. I want to keep the stock 17" Limited rims (partly to save some $). If not, I want to pick a set of 16" rims.

I know with the 17" rims, I have fewer choices in size. 16" has far more choices.

One big decision factor for the rims, is how well the 285 or 33x12.5 tires will fit. If I can get 16" (with an optimal backspacing and offset) that minimize the amount of rubbing, I will go with that. If 285 have less rubbing than 33x12.5 I will stick with that.

Anyone have any suggestions on rims, offsets, backspacing, tires, tire sizes, please through them at me. I am a knowledge sponge. I need to soak these up.

If you can fit 16" wheels, I'd go with the 16's as it's cheaper and has more choices. Also the tires are widely available compared to 17's. Since you're ultimately going w/ 285's, I'd say you'll want to make sure you get a 16x8 or 17x8 wheel.

If you get the MT/R's in the 285/75/16 then you will rub. Expect to take a chunk of your front bumper off. Also under full compression in the rear, you will eat your rear bumper as I have.

I have 16x8 zero offset and 4.5 Backspacing. Tires 285/75/16 MT/R's
Good ol Discount Tire/America Tire! Make sure you get insurance for em!

Do you think if I go with wheels that have less backspacing like 4". Will I still rub like you? Or did I get it wrong? I should go with more backspacing like 5"?

How much did the tires cost you? Best price I got so far $161 per tire + mount/balance/tax
