Heavy Duty Rear Bumper

I've been away for a while, and most of the work I previously did was to my '01 Sport, but I've come back for some info on my wife's '04 Sport. I've done some searching, but I'm just not finding what I'm looking for. Is there any company that is making a bolt on, aftermarket rear bumper for the '03+ Runners?

My wife got rear-ended by a 2003 Chevy S-10 4x4 Ext. Cab yesterday, and it nearly obliterated his truck. Barely driveable, and the tires rub when the wheel is turned. My wife's Runner on the other hand has some marring on the bumper, but all else is perfectly fine. In fact, it's not even that noticeable. The other driver kept commenting on how well her truck must be made. Anyway, sorry for the rambling.

Any aftermarket, heavy duty, bolt on rear bumper for the '03+ Runners?

Thanks!

Kent

Big Country Customs

Tell him that i sent you his way and that might remind him that I'm still interested

I saw that one pictured on his web site being built and the end results. It's awesome. Totally different style to build up and replace the plastic side panels. Apparently, it's more work when compared to the 3rd gens or earlier because of the built-in rear towing structure that is cross welded to the frame and needs to be cut off with some new holes bored to latch the after market bumper (if I remember correctly). I'm sure he can add jerry can holders and perhaps hi-lift jack mounts if needed (not sure about the jack stand, but don't see why not).

There is no welded on towing structure. It sounds like you are describing cutting off the rear cross-member, which would require some good fab skills. The CBI bumber is 100% bolt on.
