ecu and mileage?
I need to change my tac and speedo in my 06 tacoma. the replacement unit will be set to the mileage of my old one. i may put a few miles on the truck while the new one is on the way. does the ecu store the mileage? i am afraid that the two don't match and i will have a problem with warranty work later on. i don't know if the ecu has the mileage in it or not. anyone out there that knows?

are you replacing it because of a malfunction? thats warranty and should be performed by the dealer. the mileage shouldnt really matter to the ecu, but if it does and the dealer is putting it in then its not your problem, theyll just havta order another 1. if you have an 06 then that truck is the dealers responsibility to fix and pay for parts, not yours.

i just don't want a problem if it goes to another dealer at a later date. i find alot of dealers do a half ass job of things. i have worked in and for shops and have seen alot of thing done wrong to cut corners.
