Anybody know? What years of 4Runners have rear Elock with Disc brake?

I am looking for my next rear axle to do a buggy, and I want one that had OEM toyota Disc brakes, AND elocker, were they an option on 03+ models?, or did those still have drums? Anybody have a newer 4Runner with Discs in the rear, and Elocker?, if so what year is yours?

Thought about doing a FJ80 rear, but I cant, the diff is offset, and wont work..

Thanks in advance!

Yes, 03 and up has rear discs. 03 was the first year for that. No 4Runner has ever had an e-locker and disc brakes until the 2008 SR5 with the Trail Edition package, and those are few and far between, unfortunately.

Check this out:

If you really want a factory e-locker, find one of the 3rd generation 4Runner that had it and install one of these disc brake conversions.

Or you could just take any axle, install an air locker, and then install one of those brake conversions. I think that would be easiest AND cheapest.

Given how similar the axle setups are on the 3rd and 4th gens, i wonder if its possible to swap a 4th gen axle shaft/brake setup onto a 3rd gen locker housing?

Just a thought

I think I found my own answer, I need to be looking for an 07+ FJ Cruiser rear axle with Elocker, has both discs, and Elocker, thanks for the info Will816, just out of curiosity, are you in Missouri?, is that what the 816 is?

Don't forget to verify the gear ratios on the new axle when you're swapping.
