Hey, has anyone (with failed shocks) tried removing the lift & relocs, and then go to the dealership...?

Lance,
Are you saying they won't warranty suspension stuff at all?
If you are looking at a $1500 bill to replace the XREAS, it would be worth it to remove the spacer lift before taking it in... worth a try I guess.

Just to recap, there is now more concern that the relocs will cause more damage than over extending the rear shocks (when a tire comes off the ground). Which is why they should be removed.
Here's a silly question: weren't the shocks fully extended during the spacer lift and reloc install? That didn't seem to do any harm to the precious XREAS shocks...

Maybe read the whole thread again. The droop isn't the big issue here, so extending the shocks was not causing the failure. Rather the wrong operating angle and compression.

Right, guess I wasn't clear.
Droop is not the big issue, so it is advised to remove the relocs, to avoid the problems they are causing.
Glad I found this forum.

No one can say for sure weather extending/compressing causes a problem.

However, the relocs clearly pose a problem with the change of angle they create.

My issue is that with the relocs the shocks becomes the bumpstop, which will cause it to fail a lot sooner than needs be.

Below is a pic on my rear wheel stuffed, compare it to yours stuffed with the reloc and you will understand my concern. It might just be an inch or two, but that weight and pressure is on the shock and not the bumpstop. My 2c.

I actually took the measurement to the center, so if somebody still running relocs can stuff their rear wheel and measure we can compare and review the difference.

measure from the center of the wheel to the fender too. You will just have to subtract your bodylift out of the equation.

Attention all XREAS owners- especially those of you using NE Relocs or faulty spacers-
PLEASE CALL TO COMPLAIN AND JUMPSTART THE INVESTIGATION BY THE FTC/ NHTSA
HERE IS THE DIRECT LINE TO CALL:
Carol at 1-800-424-9393 ext 1014

NE's information (buried in the other thread):
Nitrous Entperprises, LLC
Anthony Krueger and Ryan Cloud
nitrousenterprises.com
406-581-9378

RYAN D CLOUD
Address
171 E CANYON VIEW RD
BELFAIR, WA 98528

kickaha has done the legwork on this- this is the only way you can help future Toyota owners not get burned, and possibly get restitution for your unusable parts.

It's a simple phone call- no chatter on the internet needed, just tell them to investigate, whether you have NE's products or not.

Please fill this simple complaint form with the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (FTC) to expedite matters as well.

https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

Ryan Cloud and Anthony Krueger are the owners/ sales reps

If someone has the address or other relavant information to help fill out the forms, leaving sections blank is ok too.

ditto kickaha's post:
I’d like to encourage everyone reading this to file a complaint about Nitrous Enterprises. You do not need to have purchased NE products in order to file a complaint.
They will make sure the parts are safe and, if they are not, will require the modified vehicles to be made safe.
The more formal complaints, the more likely it is that they will take notice of this problem sooner. Your formal complaint will help. So, if you feel that this is a safety issue, please do everyone a favor and visit the following site to file your own complaint

Regarding the angle that those relocs provide and the resulting problems with damaging the shocks, could the relocs be bent slightly to obtain the correct running angle?

I think bending it would only decrease its strength not to mention you are still dealing with the over compression problem. I am betting that does more damage to the xreas than the reloc angle.

It's really easy to remedy this problem, just remove the reloc and just throw it away and ask NE for $ back.

Let's see how the return goes

To: info@nitrousenterprises.com

Based on my experiences and what I have learned from your other
customers, it is necessary for me to return your kit due to serious
safety concerns. Although I think given the circumstances it would be
justified for me to bill you for removal labor costs, I'll settle for
a pure product return.

Please advise immediately as to your return policy.

Best wishes,

(I'll post again if I get a response.)

Good luck. The other guy whose XREAS was ruined by the NE kit/re-locs approached AK about it and AK blamed it on the installers without offering any sort of compensation or help for the guy.
