`05 4runner mod Questions
I just purchased an `05 4- Runner SR5 4x4
my local dealer wants to sell me the 2-1/2 inch spacer kit for the front with
1" I believe for the rear to level it out. Also he wants to sell me 4 new bilstien 5100 model shocks to go with this kit.He also wants to add A KC light bar and run 4 KC623 lights(165watts?) and says it wont drain the battery while engine is running.also I was wondering who makes after market wheels in the stock sizes? Any help would be greatly appreciated .Thank you in advance for your time.

I don't know that my reply will help you much but anyway...
A spacer lift is great as a short term means to getting some clearance for offroading. I think that in time you will need new coils to cope with loads that you might be carrying while camping etc. and to allow for greater flex (which affects traction to terra firma). In this case you might want to compare pricing with a fully matched OME setup.
As to the light bar and lights that's just personal preference. Now there are bullbars out for the 4Runner (Shrockworks and ARB) you might want to consider these as alternatives to light bars which really provide no protection in an accident.
Just some thoughts.
I believe some people consider the Bilstein 10" 7100 short bodies with remote res as a great choice for the 4Runner. Other than that there's Donahoe's too.

HeyHey ,
thank you very much for the input....I really like the OME Kit ....my local 4x4 dealer says now that bilstien doesnt make a 5100 shock for the newer 4 runners. seems the OME kit would really be the way to go ...as Camping and recreational 4 wheeling is why we got this 4 runner.
Does anyone know if the info regaurding the lights is accurate...Being able to run 4 KC daylighters (model KC623 ) without draining the battery while motor is running ?
I honestly dont know ...
Thanks again for your time and i really do appreciate this forum being available for newbs like me !!!
Thanks to the moderators and staff for providing this, as it is priceless Info .

And yes, welcome. You can learn a lot from here.
Also, you can usually save a lot of money getting the aftermarket parts yourself, rather than having the dealer sell them to you. It might be daunting at first with all the options, but if you have a little time to spend looking, you can get all the information you need to make a good decision.
Good Luck.

check out www.toyota.com and drill down to 4runner and they have a great flash demo of what xreas is and what it exactly does. as for the sr5 model you have, no need to worry about xreas as you don't have it.
