Last week, I was shifting from D to 3 and this usually goes without issue, but this time it was difficult and the gear selector would not budge. So I give the lever a couple of sharp taps and it finally goes, but then it wouldn't stay in 3. Now there is no lockout past park and the lever almost freely glides from reverse to low and still will not stay in 3. Has anyone else experienced this? The ignition key still cant be removed unless the selector is in park, nor can the selector be moved out of park without the key, so it is not completely broken. I have been searching all over for the shift mechanism, but the closest I get is the center console and the "shift plate" which seems to be the name of the selector, but no exploded view. Does anyone have any experience with this? The truck drives fine in "D", however I'm worried this may further break down.
