Timing chain

hi, ok so i got a newbie question i just spent quit and bit of money re-building my 22re i installed the timing chain and noticed that the chain ride up against the tensioner and the tensioner side guide, i was wondering how durable the plastic is, with a metal chain rubbing against it wouldnt it wear out really fast? thanks!

thats the way its supposed to. INstalled correctly, it should last 75-100K, though I suggest replacement at 75K.
