timing ? 22rtec 1986 4x4 pick up

i jumped the connector and the idle droped ,set mark at 5 btdc reved motor and it went back to 5 so i set idle at 8oo. The truck stopped shaking but it still sounds like it is missing. It has no power and runs like crap. Does it sound like it jumped a tooth. Will that make it run poorly?

Have you tried pinning it down to one plug/cylinder? You know the routine, pulll one cap at a time, check for little or no change. That would be a place to start.
