thorley header install help needed 94 3.0 floor board obsticle
94 3vze pickup just built a performance motor to replace my old blown up 3.slow. drivers side header went in fine with a couple words im glad my daughter wasent around for. Drivers side after moving brake lines, fuel lines and electrical is now hitting the floor board preventing it from even mounting up...?
Wouldnt think the body mounts would sag enough to cause this issue. Engines sitting as low as possible with stock mounts. i dont want a body lift but aside from being an incorrect bend in the header or doing a BL, maybe relocating more lines and beating n the floor board... im out of ideas, anybody run into this problem?

Passenger side.. sorry. P side is the one im having problems with. After messing with it a few hours. I feel the header itself could be angled a little different for a perfect fit but that aside. i put a floor jack on the body just behind the passenger front tire. Picked her up a hair without removing any body mounts. And am now able to mount the header with ease. was originally going to replace the body mounts and maybe shim it up just a touch for more clearance but by today i think ive talked myself into a 1" body lift.
If your going to do something might as well take your time do it right i guess.
That should give me plenty of clearance.
Until i get my parts im going to block the body up and get the rest of the truck back together and ready for initial fire up.

Good to know you got it figured out. That is strange that the headers don't fit up out of the box. Have you tried loosening the exhaust manifold bolts to see if it will settle down just a hair?
I was pretty sure you meant P-side, since you were talking about fuel and brake lines, but you know what they say about what happens when you AssUMe.

Exhaust manifold bolts? the 3zve ex manifolds mount up via STUDs to the heads. The thorley headers come with new BOLTs to mount the headers with so i never installed the studs on my fresh motor.
The problem i was having was the collector area of the header was hitting the floor board before i could even get a bolt mounted to the rear of the flange.
Was / is rather frustrating. But its in now so its all good.
