You could always take a leaf out up front to help even it out and bring down the nose.

Wow it did get you up there a bit. But like you said, should settle down a ways.

Personally i like the look of a low ass and i'm sure its a tiny bit more stable but i'd rather see the front end come down than the rear go up

Yup, considered pulling a leaf as well. I'm gonna rock it as is and see how it settles.

And low and stable is the name of the game, so the body lift will come off eventually.. but then eventually it will go back on with 35's, dual cases and a drivetrain lift... possibly next year or sooner who knows

33's for now though!

Well technically I have almost 4" of lift in the rear right now. 2" blocks and 1.75" of lift from the really long shackles i got back there, they're like 3" or more over stock shackles, to lazy to measure but i know they pick it up 1.75" .. I ran them way back and replaced them with shorter shackles to bring the butt down when i did balljoint spacers. yeah...

the 3" springs really need to settle. It'd be lower if it was a ext cab or v6 to..

the body lift is really only useful if you're actually gonna do a drivetrain lift, otherwise personally the 4 or 5" springs would be better than sticking a BL on to gain height... with the 3" setup you can fit 35's EASILY. ... but i guess if your throwing a 350 under the hood, the height is probably required. I do enjoy the added ease of working on ANYTHING with the bodylift, gives you a lot more room to work with.

Though I will admit I'm having second thoughts about taking the BL off. I've got plans for the bed now/rear bumper that work better with the bed at the height its at, not to mention my slider design that works a lot better with the body like it is. I got time to decide. First thing is to get a Driveshaft in there and see what this baby can do! haha

the body lift would be strictly to gain clearance for the motor/tranny/t-case swap...need to have a body lift to acquire adequate cooling and to clear the header's i'll have on it..lol..and like you said..it makes everything ALOT easier to get to...like those top tranny bolts i hate those..hahahahaha..

of course thats all the stuff i WANT to do to it...i might end up scavenging alot of parts off of it and then sellin the rest to somebody for a truggy..of course i'd like to have a good 4runner..lol

Why not do a 1uz-FE motor swap and put a 151tranny with turbo Tcase (23spline) and E-lockers.. chromoly rear axles, bobbys upfront...

then a drivetrain lift, rear disc brakes...

oh wait thats what i want to do ..

well u see...the 1UZ would take WAYYYYY to much electronic BS to run..lol

with the 350 chevy..or 4.3..it only takes like 5 wires to run..maybe less..

and with dana 60 and 14bolt..i could rebuild them STOCK and they are like twice as strong as toyota axles..and if i build em up..they could be unstoppable..lol..

and since it would see limited rocks..and LOTS-O-MUD..the 1 tons are a better choice..full width..BIG tires..LOTS OF STRENGTH..i've always dreamed of have a 350 SAS'd toyota sittin on like some..36x14.50 boggers...mmmmm..

i also want a 4.3 Vortec with the trick aluminum intake manifold in my '86..lol

yea i dont like crossbreeding either..but..you cant beat a 350 in terms of ease of maintenance..cheapo deapo parts..
and LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of aftermarket for them..lol

and i have heard bad things about the TG springs..i.e. settling ALOT!!!!!!!

i'll probably go with MC springs..lol

The ring and pinion is the same (8") so you can use any 8" gearset, but some of the bearings in the install kit are different. A quick search found this:

http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126...stall-kit.html

But I would bet there's a cheaper install kit out there, just google it

my truck came out looking stupid high up front with 4" tg springs, chevies in the rear.
id say it settled an inch or 2 drivin around with no shocks, then put the shocks on and it stiffens up teh front end.

i still have 33x10.5's with 5.29's and hate drivin freeway, my speedo says im topped out at 90, but probably doin 75? but my 22rs screamin at 4200

truck looks good drew

Yeah I'm definetly considering 4.88's now. But if I don't score these elockers I'm just gonna toss in the two 5.29 sets, an aussie in the rear, and the trutrac up front and go with it.

Traffic morning/night when i go to work come home i rarely hit 65mph anyway haha ... but typically enjoy 70.

I'm running 4.88's with 35's and it's got plenty of power.
No reason to go to 5.29's IMO.

Does help the low range for wheeling, especially with no TCASE gears or duals. But crappy on the highway (with 33's) .. I imagine 35's with 4.88's would feel a lot like 33's and 4.10's

Well, apparently you can use 4cyl gear sets in a V6 housing by adding a 5/8" shim. So that's good news, means i can use my two brand new sets of 5.29's..

I see myself selling these tires and scoring 35's before to long, especially if I get the elockers. I'm pretty much regretting not buying the 35 KM2's for 100 bucks more when i had the chance, sigh.. hey live n learn. I can't complain to much, im just happy this summer has been so blessful. =)

Heres some poser shots from this afternoon after picking up a set of 4 new Procomp Xterrains for my buddy (the tan yota). I'm jealous, wish they were going on my truck haha
