The square bend type on my 88 are .5" x 2.5" x 6".

The round bend type I don't know for sure all the stock measurements on. I have some I bought at NAPA as stock replacements for an 88 Toyota PU, that I plan on using to do the u-bolt flip eventually. They measure .5" x 3" x 7.25". I've already mocked them up on my spare rear axle, so I know they'll fit correctly too(maybe slightly too long though, no biggie, meet cut-off wheel).

Smile

The ones I use are 9/16" instead of 1/2"

86-88 trucks and 89-95 trucks leaf spring widths are different IIRC maybe I am wrong though. Somewhere in my build thread when I did my rear springs are the measurements of the superlift ones I used. Of course the length on them was longer then needed and had to be cut down.

Also believe mine were 9/16" as well, my OEM ones were 14mm which = 9/16.

O.k., I see what I did there now. I was measuring the shank diameter, like how you measure a hex bolt. Which is approx. .5" or 13mm.

  • Thread Diameter (T). Also called major diameter.
  • Shank Diameter (S).
  • Root Diameter (R). Also called minor diameter.
Hex Bolts

The diameter of a hex bolt is the Shank diameter, expressed in inches for US bolts and Millimeters for Metric Bolts. Because this is approximately the same as the Major or Thread diameter the thread diameter measurement can be used for fully threaded bolts.
U bolts are measured by thread diameter. Which is M14.
