I just had mine done today. They listed they "checked the toe" but when i took the truck in yesterday it drove straight, now it pulls to the left. Are they supposed to do an alignment? I cant image they wouldnt...
And they tryed to sell me a $250 idler arm.

I just saw on another thread about this that dealers may replace the tie rods and adjustment sleaves under the recall in the rust belt areas if they are rusted badly. So you might check on this with your dealer before replacing them.

I asked at my dealer today as I picked up the Repair manual for my 94 4runner, and it is going in to be fixed tomorrow. Good with some free stuff after my transfer case replacement.

they are giving everyone the "you need to replace your idle arm" routine. I got it and a couple of my friends got it. It your vehicle pulls take it back and ask them to realign. they tend to forget and then try to blame it on the idle arm (tip from a former toyota tech). It is how they make a little money from the free recalls.

Just got mine back and it's good to go. No gouging
![]() seems to drive a little firmer. Nothing said about any problems or needing replacement parts. Thanks for the heads up guys. I would have never known about this w/o this forum!

Last month, I had the T100 in for service at my local toy shop (not a dealer).
They said my left and right ball joints were "bad", and that the idler arm had play. So I had them lift the truck and the tech showed me the play by simply moving one of the tires back and forth. So I need some recommendations on how to proceed. I'll need both ball joints replaced, the idler arm, and the relay rod as part of the recall. Should I take it in to the shop and get the ball joints/idler arm replaced, and then go into the dealer for the relay rod? I can't imagine I'll get ahead by letting the dealer do it all!

Somebody could call for me? I've never heard of recalls in Spain (Yeah, here Toyota sales trucks and cars, later of paying you don't exist for them...)
My 4Runner is diesel but except for cosmetics and the engine is almost the same. My VIN # is JT111GND0008004200. If someone can make me this favour I'll be very please ![]() David

So has anyone actually gotten one of the Service Campaign letters yet?
I see that several of you have gotten the service done, but did you just ask the dealer to do it or did Toyota contact you first?

I called the 800 number above as I'm not the original owner and woulndt have gotten a letter.
Toyota Corporate verified by VIN # that I qualified for the recall over the phone, and directed me to the nearest dealer and said I didnt need anything to get it done. In the shop the next day and out the day after that. Easy Cheesy. Mike
