so before this thread goes down hill anymore....

i would try some fresh gas + carb cleaner additive.

"breaking glass" is hard to imagine when describing accelerating.. maybe try taking video of it to record the sound.

does it make the sound when you rev it up in neutral? or does it only do it when moving? have you looked under the front end to see if anything LOOKS wrong. torn CV boots, stuff hanging, grease in places it shouldnt be.

did you get really stuck and managed to get sand in your hubs?

were you following someone really close and possible sucked sand thru the air filter and into the carb/intake?

anything else you can tell us besides
* "went to pismo"
* "came home on night"
* "truck has weird sound"
* "you think somethings is wrong"
* "step on gas and sounds like "a glass that breaks" "
* "when hot, blows blue smoke on start up"
* "you were goin 70 miles per hour..."
* "you think the Tachometer wasnt goin right"

that isnt a whole lot of information to go off of.

Has he checked his headlight fluid though? I heard Toyotas are bad for having cross contamination with the piston return spring.

I buy mine here:

you should probably just take it to a mechanic, you obviously are not mechanically inclined.

Haha, I agree. It doesn't even sound like the OP knows how to put gas in his truck.
