Side Windows
Hey all.
I've got an 89' 4Runner, 2 door, first of the 2nd Gen series.
The windows just behind the driver and passenger are the 'hatch' style ones (if that's the right word), where they can pop out a couple of inches for airflow.
I never open these windows and have found myself having issuing with the handles and seals on them anyway, to the point where they're currently cable tied shut and even then water runs off my roof top tent when I leave in the morning and runs inside the windows.
I know could get new handles or seals....but has anyone had success permanently sealing these in? I was thinking of removing the current seal and putting in some sort of permanent and solid trim to seal them in.
Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated, haven't done much window work.
Cheers!

My ext cab pickup had the same problem where the latches broke and were closed using chicken wire.
I got a pair from the junkyard. I have also seen them on ebay. My pair was about $15

Hey mate, yeah I've thought about just getting some new ones and new seals, but pretty keen to try and remove the handles altogether and just permanently seal the windows in.
I'll keep thinking about it and see what options might be out there.
Cheers!

Yeah apparently at the start of the 2nd Gen release they came out with this 2 door SR5 version, but it was late 89.
I might be wrong, but that's what I'd read and it has the same look as the 2nd Gen series just a 2 door version.
