Angry Rear Seat Fold-ability Help?

Ok, this is really driving me flippin bonkers. You know how on 1st gen 4Runners you can fold the seats completely down by pulling that middle strap to fold down the bottom part of the seat, then folding down the top of it right?

Well... I caint find that bloody strap! I've dug my hand in there for the past hour and can NOT find that dog gone strap. I tried folding down the back rest to dig in further, but no dice. Unless someone knows of a good way to dig out those little straps, how do I go about taking off the bottom of the seat so I can find it?

My pops borrowed my trailer and I aint gonna be able to race my 4wheeler less I get these damn seats down lol...

Join the club - I cannot figure out how to lower mine as well.. One of my knobs to pull up (or push down) is missing.. but I can't get either seat to go down - Cannot figure out how to pull the bottom seats forward (I am assuming here)

You should be able to just pull the seat up with or without the strap (the strap is connected to the back of the seat). Just dig your hand between the seat bottom and the seat back and pull up the bottom part.

Hmm. Just tried to pull the bottom up. No dice... I'm sure that the strap is a release lever. And on the top of my seat is a push lever, not a pull button like your's jim. Ahhg, this is driving me nuts!

Looks like I aint ridin tonight :-/

the strap is attached to a little spring loaded lever that locks onto a bracket welded to the floor. You should be able to stick your hand in the center and pull up on the metal piece.

The rear bench seat and the split fold down seat use the same threaded holes in the floor. Make sure you get the metal loops that stick out on the side panels where the seat back locks in place.

Yes i see now.. I found the strap and so I can move the seat forward now - will try pushing on the lever that is on top of the seat back to make that move.. I guess I will have to take it to Toyota to have another button installed where the other push down is missing.
