Yeah, the tires will move over before the wheeling season starts again... The snow tires will stay until the snow stops flying
Got the 02 sensor hooked up - the clutch master hole is the same size as the hole under the drivers seat FWIW, and the wires are the perfect length (other than having a couple feet coiled over the fuse box). I was wrong - yellow connector by the fuse block, not blue.
Ended up tossing the clutch pedal.. I'll re-examine the two foot "oh crap" issue later
Got the dash mostly back together, but now I need to make another trip to paradise acres, apparently the dimmer switch changed in design (well plug in) between 87 (2 wire) and 88 (4 wire).

You didn't think I've forgotten this project have ya? It's been a busy winter - May long (The may 24 - yes it's a holiday; not just for bob n doug ) is 30 days away...
Some 2x4 tube magically appeared in the garage back in january... Finally got around to dealing with some of the work I've been meaning to get done (didn't help I couldn't get the front bumper off for anything (short of cutting the bolts - but I want those bolt holes for mounting)).
Came out a little too jeep-ish for my likes, mountings temporary until the lift goes on - then i'll redo the 3" channel mount like the 88's.
What the heck would I do with a formula toy?!? This aint commiefornia - we don't have rock crawling comp's in these parts...

Frame and body was really trashed (I'm finding the passenger door swapped from the 88 has a tweak in it apparently from the crash)... There was no saving the 88; local shops wouldn't even offer a price to fix.
Fudging around with more inconsequential stuff while I try to get that damn front bumper off (without just blue tipped wrenching it off - want to save those bolt holes). So I mounted the KC's from the old tube bumper...

Rust finally got to me:
Now a silly question - is there any fast/quick/easy/simple way to do something with the cut edge on the fenders? Can't seem to find a decent way to cover up the cut edge - and while I made sure it wasn't a major hazard - it could still slice someone open nicely... Was hoping door edge would work - but it's designed for a much thicker hunk of sheetmetal. Is there an easy way to roll or bend the edge back?

36grit flap disc did wonders - however I know I'd rather not work around them without gloves Which was why I was asking...
I'm amazed... Can't find everything on ebay! Is there an OEM aux lighting switch that might fit in that clutch override hole? Preferably with an annoying "I'm on" light... Waskilly's got one posted in the sticky in the electrical forum - but that looks like it belongs in one of the newer 4runners....

bummer about your first runner it looked pretty sweet. i like the way you mounted your off road lights. i might try that too. i wish the yota a pillars were big enough for a cop light though.

I guess they're not bad snow tires - I can tell ya they suck arse in clay. Haven't paid a whole lot of attention to them, given I'm going back to my 33s in the next month
Unexpected consequence of mounting the KC's there - I've now got this funky convex mirror to each side... Get a great view down the side of the truck off the chrome housing!

Well I guess I'm a redneck Enganeer! Or so a engineering friend tells me when consulted if this:
would work... Basically 1" shaft, two pillow block bearings... Pivot for my new swing away tire carrier. Shaft will be welded into the main part of the bumper (Likely with a split collar to raise it a but further).
A friend in bearings tells me I"ll need to replace the bearings annually - but at >10$ each... Meh...
For those who asked - this is why the ends have been left open thus far

Swing away tire carrier... 1/2 done
Kinda eyeballing the swing arm wondering if I can figure a way to store a 48" highlift in it.
Still trying to figure out how I'm going to latch it

Still plugging away at 'er...
Eyeballing how I'm going to do the snorkel this time around... Drivers side bothers me in so many ways... Across the radiator, hop skip n a jump from the exhaust manifold... Take up the spot I want for a dual battery...
VAFM fits nice here - but no space for a filter... Anyone have bright idears? Slapping a cleanable filter on top of the snorkel is silly, would destroy it in short order - trees / underbrush / typical backroad dust would clog it horribly being exposed like that...

Still working on it... Got the old truck back from it's resting place last weekend. Installed the 2" body lift this weekend; finally got the front bumper off (over a month hitting it every day with penetrating oil... oxy/acy to warm it up... nothing was working).
Playing around with the front bumper, semi theiving one I saw on pirate what does yotatech think? (green of course, grey would be the grille, black is the Good ol superwinch epi9000
