Power Mirror Glass

Well, I have a 1987 4runner with black power mirrors, and the problem is that I broke the glass mirror from the drivers side. So, I have a spare that is chrome plated, and I want to remove the glass mirror from the spare to replace the broken one on my truck. Now my question is, how can I remove the glass from it, is there a trick to do it? cause i've been tryin to take it off with out any succes, I don't want to brake it, since they are hard to find anymore. Thanks for Your help in advance.

before you try removing the mirror go talk to a place that does automotive glass. i recently had a new mirror cut and installed for fifteen dollars. that was for a t-100 with power mirrors. you can also paint over the chrome.
