poking my eye out!!!!!!!!!

I think im gonna poke my eye out!! bought a 93 runner love it!! however it wont pass the echeck due to the No readings first reading was 1149 seafoamed twice and returned reading of 1049 brand new muffler and tailpipe now the reading is 1249 truck is running better then ever i did the pvc and egr tests and the are both working fine no codes showing oil is fresh plugs and wires have less then12k on them so whats left the cat? only thing right however no blogs say the cat is the prob its always one of the other things soooo before i buy the cat anyone have any other options

If that's the stock cat they are worth about $140 at the scrap metal yards, what ever you do don't throw it away and don't let the muffler guy keep it either (some will claim they have to keep it )

wow, if that cat is worth about $140 on a 3.0, is the cat on my 3.4 worth anything? just wondering, as whenever i need to replace it, i could just sell the old one and use that $ towards a new one...

The older cats are worth more, I got $140 for my old 93 cat, but they offered much much less for a pair of dual cats from a 2001 Taco, IIRC it was less than $50 for both of them. I guess the old style cats had lots of expensive metals in them.

yeah, i reckon that Toyota realized they were losing $ on it or something...oh well, it was worth a shot, but thanks for the info man...

It happend to me, kicking myself in the head since I couldve payed for half of my exhaust system with it.
