so if any of you seen my old thread about installing the aftermarket gauges, and not having a way to hook up the temp gauge...
Well, the other night I was browsing eBay, not even looking for anything in particular. I came across some mid to late 80's used 22re parts, and noticed they were all from the same seller. So I sent him a message, just out of curiosity; "Hey, do you have any mid to late 80's 22re thermostat housings, the type with the threaded temp probe on the top of it?". Well, about 5 minutes later, he sent me a message back; "I sure do, $25 shipped". Well I jumped on it, and guess what came in the mail today
Sencor and all!!!
200k miles of road grime thrown in at no charge
I'm going to take it to work tomorrow, tap the hole just a little bit bigger to fit one of the adapters, and hopefully install it tomorrow afternoon, cause I'm suppose to get off work early tomorrow anyway!
I know, doesn't seem like much, but hell, I'm syk'ed about it!

I bet your 86 does, but try and find another one, lmao, I've been searching for what, almost 2 months now
One would think that being such a common part, it would be easy to find a replacement. Well, my only other resort around here would have been a dealership, and god only knows what they would have wanted...
and thanks, but I think I'll pass on your offer... I'm good

I was thinking though, I'll be able to tell when my t-stat opens for sure, since this sit just down stream of it; I'll see the temp just rocket up on the gauge, lol
but oh well, it'll be better than judging between C and H

haha, I've had it zip-tied to the heater hose running into the heater core, so it moves a little bit when the heater's on, lmao

What exactly is that sensor supposed to do when it comes stock??
I've got one of those sensors connected to the t-stat housing on mine, and a few months ago, the wire connecting to it had weakened and I found it had broken.
I haven't had a chance to fix it, as Canada's living up to it's igloo-weather reputation, but, the truck seems to run just like it always has!

you know that anywhere between C and H is technically "normal", right?
and I think it's funny when text editors that offer spell check don't work in certain browsers. Most text editor controls offer spell check... but most of the open-source one's don't offer it to IE unless they are coded to work with asp, asp.net. PHP ones, for the most part don't work.
