I ran Bridgestone Dueller At's in 32x11.50 for about 11 years and I can say I was happy with them for about 10 of that. I think what did it was when we bought the V8 4runner. I got so sick of the truck I was ready to burn it. It's not bad it just wears on you. It definitely hurts the acceleration and makes the truck a dog on the roads.

Offroad it wasn't noticeable.

I never bothered to check the fuel mileage because with the speedometer off 10% the fuel mileage you figure from the odo will be off too. I always just figured it was around 17 city.


I put over 200,000 miles on them...Not the same set of course.

Btw, with the 36's and 5.29's my truck gets better gas mileage from what I can tell and drives like it did when it was stock. Proper gears are soooo nice.

i know. i looked at what you wrote and the opart where you went wrong is that you used the 18.x gallons. donmt use that. use what it says u put in to fill it up. sorry if i misread it or sumthin but from what u typed
it loks like you are basing the gallons off of what the tank is rated to hold not what u actually fill up. sorry if i'm wrong. maybe the 18 is what you put in each time you fil up. sorry for tryin to help..

nice wheels man, the look pretty familiar . Nice addition to your truck, it looks great. For those interested, i have a 3.0 with automatic tranny and stock 4.10 gears, with 33x12.50s and the same wheels. I am getting about 175 miles to a tank.

I dont know what to tell you guys. I use my gps for mileage, and thats all highway. I-95 from maine to boston, ma then I-90 from boston, ma to rochester, ny. Do about 68 the whole way, and tend not to pass anyone.

Dont know what it would do with the stock tires as I bought it with these tires about a year ago. Theres a ton of little things that effect mileage.

The only time i really have issues with the lack of power would be the local highways here in maine. A lot of them have passing zones that switch from side to side, but they always seem to be on the steep uphill sections, and unless you make a run on the way up to it you wont be passing anyone.

ya i powdercoated them myself. Im sure you could take them off and put a few coats of gloss spraypaint on them and they would look pretty good.

Might have to try that. They also have the home do it yourself powder coat systems. You just have to bake whatever you coat. I have an old oven in the garage i could use. Just kinda thinking out loud there.

Lookin good man, I've heard awesome things about those Pirelli A/T's. A buddy of mine had em on his Tahoe and he loved em.

I would just powder coat your lugs...should only be about $20 to have it done for ya.

I had some black lugs on my old 2nd gen Runner but for the life of me I can't remember where I got em...hmm...

Looks good though, nice choice.

That is basically what we have where i work, it is nothing special. Very simple and easy to do. Just make sure you have sort of ventilated area or somehting to catch tehe excess powder. O ya and make sure you have an air source as well.

Haha..thanks. I guess I'm just jealous...or envious...or something. Gas is a killer, but my wheel wells look so empty...lol. I can't pass anyone hardly as is...on relatively flat land.

Ah well. I just keep reading different people's experiences and they seem to be different sometimes. I was just surprised. I thought tires much larger than stock w/o regearing would really hurt mileage and/or power. Apparently not that much, though.

You have to take into consideration how well the engine was taken care of before they own the truck and how well they take care of it now. I know that once I change out my plugs, wires, cap, and rotor button along with some SeaFoam then I'm sure that the truck will run better. I'm working on installing my E-Fan as well to lighten the load on the engine.

Well, I know my 22re was somewhat neglected before I bought it. As I've been able to, and when needed, I've done all I can to improve it. You can bet I am on top of the maintenance thing. Right now I'm in the middle of a few adjustments and possible replacements and I'll have to wait for those results. New tires are in order before winter, so I'll weigh everything and go from there. Then, I'll just have to see where my finances are in respect to tire pricing and size. And even then, where I get my tires I have only four brands to choose from. Kinda limiting, but the dealer has a great road service plan.

What I'd like is some 31x9.5's and minor wheel spacing. But, I've only seen one company (Interco) that has that sizing, and the tire dealer doesn't carry that brand....narrowing my options down even more. Unggh!

Try tirerack.com that's where I got the Pirellis from. $523 delivered to the house. Paid the local tire shop $40 to mount, balance and put on truck.
