You should see the 4runners with just the cruiser coils installed with no front lift. Congrats on the front install

thanks

Ok soo a bit of a crisis....the website that i ordered the downey leafsprings from just sent me a email that said they didn't currently have any in stock....but that they would get some this upcoming week and ship them by 2/19/07

so yeah no leaf springs until at least a week from tuesday....grrrrrrrr
And what pisses me off the most is that when i ordered the springs they said "in stock"

OOK so the leafsprings FINALLY came...except i got tired of waiting for the downey springs so i ordered a pair of superlift.

As soon as they came (yesterday) i took em out back, jacked up my car and proceeded to un-install the stock leafs but to my despair, all of the bolts were STUCK on so i then used about a half a bottle of WD40 and got the bolts off and out...except the one in the back hangar...which is still wedged in there...so hopefully when i get home from school today i'll be able to get it out and put in the new one.
Oh btw am i going to have to get new u bolts or anything?

those aren't really bolts, they are studs. Simply remove the top and bottom nuts off the other side, remove the shackle on the nut side,
(use a jack to take off most of the weight of th axle) get a piece of 2x4 or block-o-wood and drive out the other side of the shackle bolts and all! Its
pretty simple.

Just out of curiosity, anyone running BJ spacers with a 4" IFS lift?

I'm going to run that combination so I can loosen up the tbars and was wondering if anyone else had any comments on it...

I'd like to get as close to 10" of total lift as I can...

are you replacing your shackles or are you keeping the stock ones? If you are putting new ones on just remove the top nut that is in the frame. Looking good so far, good choice of lift combo.

Those studs are pressed into the metal shackle. Just do what fthrtime666 said. Place a 2X4 between the studs (on the shackle) and give it a punch with the hammer. The whole shackle (and studs) will pop right off.

I can't tell from the pic, but will assume you have the rear of the truck jacked up and the springs unloaded?

i used a punch and a sledge to get those out. it would be advisable to put in new ubolts, i would use a u bolt flip, but then you have to weld on new shock mounts.
