MSD 3vze wires, wrong terminators?
Just picked up a set of 8.5mm Super Conductor wires listed as the right wires for a 1994 Toyota Pickup with the 3.0L V6 (3vze). However, when I went to install the wires they had socket type terminators instead of the factory style male terminators. Do I need an MSD distributer cap? Did Toyota change the distributer cap and I need to find an older one?
The part number on the wires is 31929. When I search for these on the net they are listed as the right wires. However, I can't find them on the MSD website.
BTW, the coil wire is wrong as well, needs two male plugs. My distributer and coil both have female receptors and the coil wire terminates in the female socket type.

get a new distributor cap from a 1990 or 89 3.0, which should have your "run of the mill terminals" that accept the female plugs instead of the toyota male clip-on. you can always go to carquest, get the boots and the metal terminals and retrofit the wires as i did

You mean you cut off the dizzy side of the wires and crimped on male terminators?? Seems like the MSD factory could do a better job with that, but maybe I'm thinking it's more complicated than it really is.
See, if I buy the older dizzy with the right connectors, then I have to buy an old coil also, because the wire will be different on each side going from the dizzy to the male-style coil I currently have.
Grrrrr....

Bump. Any other ideas on this? I know the stock wires are good enough for my HP goal (eventually 250hp@crank), but in the off-road world good insulators and good quality construction makes things last longer.
