Loudest, but best sounding muffler?

Loudest, but best sounding muffler?
For a Pickup with a 22RE?
I want something loud, but not obnoxious.. I would run just straight pipes, but that only sounds good on V8s.

I was looking at the Vortex too because it seems to add a nice throaty, but low sound to a engine that can't really make that kind of exhaust note with a different muffler without sounding ricy....(small v6s)
I'm also looking at the Flowmaster 40/50 series as those seem nice also

with the 4cyl. finding the loud and deep compared to the pissed off bumble bee can be very hard. If you go with a larger pipe you run the risk of losing the right amount of back pressure. Some on the site have run flowmasters i believe there are some posts with sound clips. A cheap and decent route would be to put a turbo muffler. Anything resembling a glasspack will give the sound your not looking for.

Well, I am on the bandwagon of backpressure=bad. Regardless... But, anyhow..
I have the Flowmaster 40 on my Nissan Hardbody Z24 4Cyl, it sounds good.. But it's not loud enough, but it definitely sounds great.
That Vortex is very appealing. I wish there was a sound clip of it on a 4cyl though.

I just installed a Flowmaster Super 40 with my DT tri-y headers.Sounds really good to me compared to a Borla which is quieter.I once owned a LCE muffler and that was very loud at WOT.

I thought it would be cool to get a loud exhaust too, and went with jardine. After a year, I want to get rid of it. Think long term before you go out and install a headbanging, can't-hear-your-passengers, obnoxious roar from you itty-bitty 4 cylinder.

gotta agree, bark will be way more than the weak horsepower bite. but whatevs, to each their own. now if it was a v8 with power id say get a throaty one. but a 4cyl, cmon..next you are going to say its 2wd.. but to help, check youtube. they have plenty of videos. just type in 4runner or toyota and add cherrybomb or maganaflow and youll get plenty of videos.

Who cares? Having horsepower doesn't equate to some right of passage to have a loud exhaust. Whatevs? What the hell? That's more annoying than people who say "hella."
How many people here have a v8? Not many.
It is 2wd, what's your point? You must be one of those idiots who think 2wds can't go where 4x4s go.. It's all about the driver, not the rig.
But, in any case.. I'll probably get a Flowmaster.
But whatEVS, im just an IDIOT who thinks 2wd are not as capable..not sure how i am so ignorant to think a 4wd vehicle is any more capable. my bad.
..i suggest when you get your new muffler, park in a closed garage and rev it ALOT to get the true sound.

now whenmy exhaust pipe broke at the exhaust manifold, it sounded bad ass.
