Head Bolts 22RE

I have a 1987 22RE i am reworking the head, I have been told i have to replace the head bolts, and i have been told the head bolts are fine, and to reuse them. So my question is this Do i have to replace the Head Bolts?? Thanks for you help and setting me stright on this subject!

You can reuse your head bolts 22REs aren't torque to yeald.

Reuse the 22re head bolts.

Might not hurt to clean the threads though.

In theory, they can be reused, but they are cheap to replace if you want to be sure.

You may also want to clean the threaded holes in the block with a tap before re-assembling the engine.

I rebuilt mine with new headbolts, a friend of mine reused his. As of yet no problems for either of us but for $26 I sleep at night. The dealer wanted $8 each, I got all of them from LC for around $26.
